Dream Stream DJ Rick Wrigley
Saturday
10 AM - 1 PM ET Monday
7 - 9 PM ET
I am another one of those guys
that wanted to get into radio as a kid. I grew up in Jacksonville,
Florida with great radio all around me, including one of the
legendary stations the 60's and the 70's, WAPE – The Big Ape! If
you lived along the southeastern coast of the United States, you
heard that 50,000 watt powerhouse. I dreamed every day about
spinning 45’s on the air and having everyone groove to my tunes. But
it was just a dream.
After high school, I attended
the University of South Carolina, in Columbia. To my amazement there was a university radio station
on campus, WUSC!
I got a chance to do it all there, DJ, News Reader, Program
Director, Chief Announcer, music director and Chief Engineer. I
really got into the experience. There was a great bunch of students
there and many of them got jobs at local commercial radio stations.

I was one of the lucky ones.
I was hired as a DJ at WCOS - AM/FM.
The highlight of my time there was doing the “Nightbeat Show” live
from a small radio booth at a local drive in restaurant right in the
middle of the action. The disk jockeys also got a
chance to be on stage with some really big names in music; Sam the
Sham, Peaches and Herb, James Brown, Bob Segar, and Jimmy Rogers
just to name a few. There were also a lot of local and regional
bands, The Sensational Epics, The Ventrelles and the Band of Oz. Wow
I was in heaven!
It was the best job that I ever had, but the money was pretty bad
and eventually I drifted to the technical side working in local
radio and television stations occasionally doing air shifts. I finally left broadcasting in 1991
but I still missed being that guy on the radio, playing
records and making people happy. Radio went to corporate America
but the creative side of broadcasting went somewhere else, the Internet.
My shows are multi – genre and cross the years from the 1950’s to
the present day. You can never tell what you might hear. By the way, there is one music genre that I sample a lot on my
shows. If you are a fan of Carolina Beach Music - I mean dancing the
shag with sand in your shoes, wearing Bass Weejuns, Madras Shirts
and Gantt Pants with a buckle on the back, and listening to music
with a trumpet playing band, get your Weejuns on and tune in!
Long live Rock and Roll!

Meow Mix DJ Jitar
Saturday
4PM to 6PM ET
I'm
Second Life's High-Tec Stray Cat Furry who gets to play with radio
transmitters! Broadcasting from Nevada's Panther Valley (With only the
occasional explosion now and again.) I could turn up anywhere to Twist
your transistors. My show is about all things Rockabilly!
Most of my Childhood was spent learning Music, an activity my Mother
and Grandmother both supported and encouraged. It was while attending
St. Catherine's Military Academy that I met Paul Newman (A Local AM
station DJ, not the actor) and became interested in Radio. During the
early/mid 70's I hung out with "Humble Harve" Miller and Charlie Tuna
at KKDJ-FM in Los Angeles. I came to InterNET radio in 2005.
In case you didn't know it.... Cat DJ's can scratch better than anyone... if you don't believe me just point me at your
couch and I'll prove it!

Music Therapy
With DJ GLee
Wednesday and Thursday
7 - 9 PM ET
Music has been an integral part of my life
since early childhood. We actually had a “Juke Box” on our back
porch when I was a small child….LOL and there was always a radio
playing when the “Juke Box” was not in use. It just seemed that
music was a necessity to our daily activities. My neighbor started
taking band in high school and I used to listen to him practice his
horn which further enhanced my interest in music. You guessed it!
When I got to junior high school, I started taking band and from
there I never slowed down.
I started my own small band at age of 14 and
from there, my journey took me to the Sensational Epics! We
organized the Epics in 1963 and immediately started recording on
such record labels as Cameo, Warner Brothers and eventually Capitol
Records. Our most notable accomplishment from the 60’s was that we
recorded the original version of “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy”
which turned out to be the biggest and most well known Beach Music
song to date. Unfortunately, it was a cover of this song by the
Tams that was a hit….LOL….but none the less, we recorded the
original version! We are currently recording on Ripete Records and
have enjoyed success with our new recording efforts. As of the
writing of this info, we have a song that is #15 and rising on the
current “Beach Music Top 40 charts” from Cash Box Magazine.
Over the years, I’ve had the most wonderful
pleasure of meeting and performing with some of the biggest stars
in the music industry! To name a few: Ray Charles, Curtis Mayfield
& The Impressions, The Drifters, James Brown, The Orioles, Billy
Stewart, Jerry Butler, Percy Sledge and many, many more, too
numerous to name! Among the friends that I made along the way were
many radio disc jockeys, one of which was Rick Wrigley! Rick is a
STAR in his own right and I am pleased to call him friend. Rick is
responsible for getting me involved in Web Radio and I am pleased
to join the “Our Generation Radio” family. I’m excited about this
new adventure and I hope that you enjoy sharing my music with me. I
hope it brings you as much joy as it does to me!!!!!!

Doggie Playland
With DJ Snowbird
Monday 11 AM - 3 PM ET
Wednesday11 AM - 3 PM ET
I was always in some sort of musical
situation as I was growing up. I sang in girls choirs and glee
clubs. Taught myself how to play piano and guitar and how to read
music. Mostly I was a singing fool. Went to college for a while at
Wichita State University and studied as a Vocal Music Education
Teacher for about a year and half when I finally realized I enjoyed
partying and dancing more than singing. I know that's sad, LOL. So
I started dancing almost every night of the week. For example when
I was 21 (many many years ago) I would go to the 21 clubs in town,
learn how to do country dancing and then go to an 18+ year old club
and teach what I learned the night before, but my heart was really
to Disco and dance music. I got into learning how to do disco
dancing and enjoyed it.
Well I got married at the age of 24 and had 2 wonderful kids and
got hooked on computers after my 2nd one was born and of course
that was all she wrote, LOL. I met a guy in a yahoo chat room who
told me about Chatmasters Cafe and there of course I met ArJohn and
we tore up the air waves there for a while. (He did his shows and I
did mine so get your minds out of the gutters) I fell in love with
streaming and talking with people in the chat rooms. After hanging
out there and a couple of other places for 8 years I decided I
needed a break from DJ'ing online.
My hubby and I started up our own local DJ service called "Snowbird
Entertainment, Inc." and have been doing that ever since. In 2008 I
looked up ArJohn as I was starting to really miss dj'ing online and
found him and his brother JimmyB at one site, then followed him to
another, and met Rick and well now you know why I'm here. Hope you
all enjoy the music and If you don't catch your foot tapping or you
start chair dancing, keep listening cause I'm sure that someone
will get you moving.
